About AdDeck
A hands-on reference for digital advertising — built to demystify the formats, mechanics, and metrics behind modern online ads.
What is AdDeck?
AdDeck is an educational resource covering the most common formats in digital advertising. Each format gets its own page with a plain-English explanation of how it works, where it's used, what the key metrics mean, and — most importantly — a live interactive example built from scratch in code.
The site itself also serves real advertisements via Google AdSense, which means AdDeck is both a learning resource about digital ads and a real-world example of them in action.
Why does it exist?
Digital advertising is a vast, jargon-heavy industry. Terms like CPM, RTB, VAST, viewability, and native can be opaque even to people who work adjacent to it. AdDeck exists to cut through that — to give anyone curious about how digital ads actually work a clear, practical, example-driven starting point.
